Denilson signs 5-year Arsenal deal

Denilson has signed a new five-year deal with Arsenal.

The Brazilian star, 19, joined from Sao Paulo for £3.4million last year. Denilson's impressive appearances in the Carling Cup have been enough to earn him an improved deal.

But he hopes to get a chance in the starting line-up in the league.

Denilson said: "I feel I have already proved myself in the Carling Cup. And I'd like to think my career is not just in the Carling Cup. My aim is to get into the first team for the Premier League and the Champions League.

"The competition is very good. What is important to me is playing. And, without question, I want to be playing in all the tournaments."
