Man City's Elano: Everyone told me not to come to England

Manchester City star Elano has revealed he was urged to reject a move to the Premiership by his best friends.

"They told me South Americans - Brazilians - cannot succeed here," he revealed to the Daily Mail. "This football is not for me, they said.

"But I want to meet this challenge. I want to succeed. I want to be the first Brazilian to break that tradition of failure."
